#BOOKREVIEW
I have been looking forward to to reading this and trying out the recipes as I would like to alternate some of my weekly meals with vegan and did not know how to do that. This is a very well presented book which is clear and concise in its explanation of veganism and is instantly appealing to children and clueless adults such as myself 😊
.
.
I have also been reliably told the sausage and bean bake is excellent and I am looking forward to trying out the the fritters, pasta pots and yummy looking chocolate dessert 🥰
.

I have also wanted to know how to cook beans and pulses but been a little nervous so this is an excellent guide and I'm looking forward to being a little bit more clued up and hopefully healthier 😊🥰

Book Review Clock of Stars by Francesca Gibbons

A CLOCK OF STARS

BY

FRANCESCA GIBBONS

Middle Grade Book Review-

Age 9+ Published by Harper Collins #followthemoth

.A magical mix of modernity colliding with myth. Imogen and Marie, two bickering sisters, find themselves trapped in a magical world they discover behind a secret door in a tree.
.
They must help a spoilt prince escape monsters and find a missing jewel to save his country before they are able to return to their own world.

Children will adore this thrilling fantasy quest with its burgeoning friendships, automatons, magic and hidden enemies.
.
The short chapters keep the story racing along while the plot unfurls like the wings of a moth within a world of excitement, daring and courage.  The lyrical writing is perfectly complimented by the fantastical and exquisite illustrations

I loved this magical contemporary fairy tale. It is absolutely riveting and perfect for Christmas.🥰😍🦋
.
The Secret Garden meets Narnia meets Brothers Grimm.

About the Book

With all the magic of Narnia and the humour of Mary Poppins, this is a future middle grade fantasy classic – and the beginning of an unforgettable journey…

Imogen should be nice to her little sister Marie. She should be nice to her mum’s boyfriend too. And she certainly shouldn’t follow a strange silver moth through a door in a tree.
But then… who does what they’re told?

Followed by Marie, Imogen finds herself falling into a magical kingdom where the two sisters are swept up in a thrilling race against time – helped by the spoiled prince of the kingdom, a dancing bear, a very grumpy hunter… and even the stars above them.

Thrilling, sharply funny, and with characters you will fall in love with, A Clock of Stars is a timeless fantasy from an astonishing new voice.

PIRATE NELL'S TALE TO TELL BY HELEN AND THOMAS DOCHERTY

SOURCE BOOKS

MY BOOK REVIEW

This is a story book adventure that celebrates the joy of reading and will thrill the little ones.

Nell joins a pirate ship with her trusty almanac but the Captain is not impressed with her bookish ways until she saves his life and discovers a treasure map! Can she find the treasure? Is it what they expect?

The rhyming text sets the fast pace for a thrilling adventure on the high seas. The gorgeous illustrations are a joy to behold overflowing with tantalising details that children will love pouring over. I especially like how the illustrations shows life onboard may not be all smooth sailing. Also there is a great surprise at the end!

At its heart is a message about the joy and importance of reading and learning. It will open a child's eyes to the possibilities in a book and show them that with learning they can become captain of their own ship!

Perfect for sharing at home or in class.

MIDDLE GRADE BOOK REVIEW: MARIE CURIOUS GIRL GENIUS SAVES THE WORLD BY CHRIS EDISON

MARIE CURIOUS GIRL GENIUS SAVES THE WORLD

 BY CHRIS EDISON

MIDDLE GRADE BOOK REVIEW 9+

A whizz kid is thrown into a exciting world of science, inventions and saboteurs. A brilliant and imaginative start to a middle grade series for science lovers.

Marie wins a place at a prestigious science camp in California run by the mysterious Sterling Vance.
In camp Marie is surrounded by like minded students all desperate to win the secret competition with their inventions. But some students will do anything to win including sabotaging their opponents. Can Marie work out who is her friend of foe? Can she and her new friends stop a computer virus being unleashed on the world?

I especially loved the references to famous scientists which kids can look up and all the cool gadgets and inventions in the futuristic camp. This super smart adventure is perfect for those who have a passion for STEM subjects and I can't wait for the next in the series.

About the book

50% Girl power + 50% Genius = 100% Awesome! A brilliant new series with a heroine who uses her science smarts – and her girl squad – to save the world from evil, one invention at a time.

Young inventor Marie can’t believe her luck – she’s spending her summer holidays in California, at the high-tech headquarters of Vance Corps! She and the other super-clever campers get to build robots, do super-cool science experiments and test out awesome gadgets. But not everyone is a happy camper . . .

Someone is sabotaging their robots, so Marie and her new friends team up to catch the culprit. Can Marie outsmart an evil engineer intent on causing a global disaster?
